Master Gardeners offer expertise, history at Raymond library series
Three Washington State University Master Gardeners will share their expertise about landscaping and gardens on Tuesdays, March 11 and 25 and April 15 at the Raymond Timberland Library. Each program will begin at 3 p.m. and run for about one hour. For further information, please contact the library at (360) 942-2408.
Sylvia Jurasin demonstrates concepts of landscape design with a PowerPoint presentation. From soil preparation to visualizing plant placement, her goal is to help you feel that designing the garden of your dreams can be a reality. Her before and after pictures show that turning your property into a garden retreat is a process that anyone can do.
Learn how to develop your own berry patch with Barbara Peters. Ms Peter's own garden contains a flourishing berry patch. She will share what she has learned both from practical experience and from her Master Gardener training. You'll soon be on your way to growing luscious raspberries and blueberries.
Mary Shane will take you to Warley Place, England at the end of the 19th Century. She portrays noted English plantswoman, Ellen Wilmott, who was so consumed by her love of gardening that, during a period of over 40 years, she spent her entire fortune of millions of pounds developing lavish gardens at Warley Place and at her estates in France and Italy.
