Ilwaco library to move to temporary building
January 18 is last library open day until February 4

The Ilwaco Timberland Library will be closed for two weeks beginning 5 p.m., Friday, January 18 so the library can be moved to a temporary building. The library will reopen at 110 1st Avenue South, Ilwaco, 98624, just down the street from the current library at 10 a.m., Monday, February 4.

The library will be in the temporary location while the Ilwaco Community Center is renovated, a project that will take about a year. The renovated library will offer about 1,200 square feet more space for materials and comfortable reading areas. The center will also have a shared meeting room.

During the closure, materials that library cardholders have placed on hold will be mailed to them. When the temporary location opens, holds will once again be at the library for pickup.

Borrowers can return library materials to other Timberland libraries or to the book drop but the library asks that people do not leave materials if the book drop is full. Items that would normally come due during the closure will have their due dates extended.

The temporary library

The temporary location has less space than the current library but will have the same open hours, services, programs, telephone number and seven public computers as usual.

Hours: Monday, 10-5; Tuesday, 10-8; Thursday, 10-8; Friday, 10-5
