Alan Richrod to discuss biofuels: sustainable energy alternatives
While the need for energy sources is growing, the supply of oil is fixed. Researcher Alan Richrod will examine renewable alternative fuels such as alcohol and biodiesel in his presentation "Biofuels: A Growing Economy." The Aberdeen Timberland Library will host the program this Sunday, February 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Richrod’s presentation is a science-based, but plainspoken, examination of the types of biofuels, how they are made, how they are used and even how people in the audience can make some of them. Richrod will share his experiences in making and using biofuels and show some actual examples. He will also explain what the challenges are and what people can do about them.
Richrod is a ten-year veteran of the automobile parts business. After 13 years as a production and research-and-development machinist, he is currently a technical researcher and writer. His research into alternative fuels spans 30 years.
