Aberdeen library to host small business workshops in English and Spanish

Jenaro Castaneda from the Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) will present business classes in English and Spanish at the Aberdeen Timberland Library on Saturday, May 3. The workshop will in English at 10:30 a.m. and in Spanish at 1:30 p.m. The topics in both classes include developing a new business and the benefits of acquring a minority business certification. There is no cost for attendance.

According to Castaneda, OMWBE is the sole certifying agency in the state for businesses to become certified as minority-owned, and many state and federal agencies as well as private industry seek certified, minority-owned businesses to do business with. More information about the services provided by the agency can be found on its website at www.omwbe.wa.gov.

Castaneda has been employed by OMWBE in the area of business development since 1993. His expertise is in the creation, development and marketing of minority-owned mature and start up businesses.
