Washington’s First Gentleman, Mike Gregoire, to visit Westport Friday
Mike Gregoire, Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire’s husband, is visiting Westport this Friday, November 16, and will make a stop at the Westport Timberland Library at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Kathleen Ringenberg, Westport Timberland Library Manager, will give Mr. Gregoire a tour of the new library that opened in December 2006. In June 2007 the Association of Washington Cities presented the City of Westport a 2007 Municipal Excellence Award for the project.
Mr. Gregoire is an advocate for children's and family literacy, which is also a major mission of the Timberland Regional Library District. He travels around the state visiting schools and libraries, reading to children at schools and recognizing the work of school and public librarians.
