Some Timberland libraries change to summer hours

The Aberdeen, Centralia, Shelton, Lacey, Olympia and Yelm Timberland libraries will be closed on Sundays from June 3 through September 30, 2007. Sunday hours will resume at those libraries on October 7.

The Ocean Park and Packwood Timberland libraries are open on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. all year (except holidays). The other 18 Timberland libraries are always closed on Sundays.


Library services available when libraries are closed

People in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston counties can telephone Timberland Regional Library’s Reference Service librarians for information on any subject seven days a week, except holidays.

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9 to 9; Friday, 9 to 6; Saturday, 9 to 5 and Sunday, 1 to 5. The number for Olympia area residents is 704-INFO (4636). In all other locations the toll-free number is 1-800-562-6022.

Some library services are available any time at the library system’s Web site, www.trlib.org. People can email reference questions and search the catalog of library books, movies, CDs and other materials. Library cardholders can check their library card accounts, reserve or renew library materials and access over 50 reference databases, sources that provide full-text magazine articles and business, finance, personal-interest and homework information.

Timberland Regional Library serves the information, reading and lifelong learning needs of the Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston county public at 27 community libraries and 7 cooperative library service locations. The library system is funded by local property taxes. Anyone needing special accommodations to participate in a library’s program can contact the library a week in advance.
