Keeping memories alive:
“Remembering Aloud” series begins Thursday at Ocean Park library

Older adults are invited to bring family members, join friends and neighbors at the Ocean Park Timberland Library, and reminisce. Share your memories during a monthly series of programs called “Remembering Aloud” and give your experiences new life.

Ocean Park librarian Iver Matheson will lead conversations from 2 to 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month from November through March (excluding December). The gatherings will jog memories and elicit stories around topics such as “Music” and “The Home Front.” Matheson will make use of memory starters for each topic, such as recordings, photographs, objects, videos and writing prompts.

The schedule to date:

Nov. 15  -  Music
Jan. 17  -  The Home Front
Feb. 21  -  School Days
March 20  -  The Fifties

“Remembering Aloud” is a program of the Timberland Regional Library District, developed to provide ways for elder citizens to share their personal histories.

The Ocean Park Timberland Library is located at 1308 256th Place, Ocean Park. For details on the programs, please call the library at (360) 665-4184.
