Mike Gregoire, Washington’s "First Mike," to visit Ilwaco library

Mike Gregoire, husband of Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire, is visiting Ilwaco on Monday, December 3. Also known as "First Mike," Mr. Gregoire will make a stop at the Ilwaco Timberland Library at approximately 1 p.m. Gregoire is an advocate for children’s and family literacy, which is also a major initiative of the Timberland Regional Libraries.

Ilwaco Timberland Library Manager Kristine Pointer will give Mr. Gregoire a tour of the library and talk about plans for renovating the Ilwaco Community Center, the building that is shared by the library and Pacific Aging Council Endeavors (PACE). The City of Ilwaco was recently awarded a $2.7 million State Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development appropriation toward the renovation. The project will begin in 2008.
