Visit old Chehalis library one more time at open house July 3
Drop by temporary library, opening same day, just across the street

Timberland Regional Library and the City of Chehalis are providing people an opportunity to walk through the 98-year-old Chehalis library building one more time before the doors close for good and a new library project begins. Locals can share library memories with friends and neighbors and enjoy refreshments at an open house at the old 76 NE Park Street location. The event takes place Tuesday, July 3 from 10 a.m. to noon.

"In 2008, a fine new library will open on the original site, paving the way for building new memories. Meanwhile, full library service will continue in a temporary location," said Chehalis library manager, Corine Aiken.

The temporary Chehalis Timberland Library opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3. The facility is at 350 N Market Blvd., just across Park St. from the original library. Entrance to the temporary library will be on the Park St. side.

"Folks can walk right over from the open house at the old library and visit us at the temporary location," said Aiken. "Libraries are part of people’s lives and something Chehalins count on is our tradition of outstanding library service. Regardless of where it’s located, the library is about community, connection and lifelong learning."
