Chehalis library to close for move to temporary building
June 16 is last day until July 3
The Chehalis Timberland Library will be closed for two weeks beginning 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, so the library can be moved to a temporary building. The library will reopen at 350 N. Market Blvd., across Park St. from the current library on Tuesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. Entrance to the library portion of the building will be on the Park St. side. The library will be in this location while a new library is constructed. The new building is expected to be completed by summer 2008.
Library services during the closure
During the closure, materials that library cardholders have placed on hold will be mailed to them. When the temporary location opens, holds will once again be at the library for pickup. If they prefer, people can make their holds inactive or change the pickup location to another Timberland Library. Library staff can help with these processes. Library materials will not come overdue for Chehalis patrons during the closure. People can return materials to other Timberland libraries or to the book drops but the library asks that people not leave materials outside the book drops.
The temporary library
The temporary location has less space than the current library but all the regular library hours, programs and services will be in effect when the library reopens on July 3.
Hours: TU, W & TH 10-8; F 10-5; SA 10-4
Summer Reading Programs in June
