UFO investigator to talk at program for teens
UFO investigator James Clarkson will discuss the history and evaluation of unidentified flying objects with teens at three libraries this summer:
Olympia Timberland Library, (360) 352-0595: Wednesday, July 11 at 7 p.m.
Winlock Timberland Library, (360) 785-3461: Wednesday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Centralia Timberland Library, (360) 736-0183: Saturday, August 11 at 2 p.m.
Clarkson focuses on providing a basic understanding of a complex subject while keeping a logical perspective. Clarkson uses the investigative methods of his nearly 25 years in law enforcement to explore UFO sightings for the Mutual UFO Network—MUFON (www.mufon.com ) is an international research organization of volunteers.
Clarkson highlights UFO investigations from Northwest sites such as Elk River (Westport), Mt. Rainier and Shelton as well as one of his own main areas of inquiry, the experiences of former Ocean Shores resident, June Crain (Kaba). Between 1942 and 1952, Crain worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where scientists and engineers often discussed UFOs as realities.
Clarkson encourages audiences to do their own research and provides a brochure with Web sites, search terms, a classification system and a summary of UFO evidence.
These presentations are part of the Timberland Regional Library free summer program for teens and families, "Solve the Mystery @ your Library."
