Soon the people of the Westport area community will be enjoying a beautiful, spacious new library: The current Westport Timberland Library on Montesano Street will close at 3 p.m., November 18 to move to the community’s new library on Harms Avenue. The new library is expected to open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5.

During the closure, local and district library staff will be packing up and transferring the library’s books and other materials, computers, network and phone lines.

Books and materials that library users have placed on hold will be mailed to them during the two-week closure. People who don’t want their holds mailed can make them inactive or change the pickup location to another Timberland library. Library staff will be happy assist people in these processes.

People should continue to return library materials to the book drop at the current library at 506 N Montesano Street until the new library opens.
