Sunday hours resume at six Timberland libraries
Many library services available 24-7
The Lacey, Olympia, Yelm, Aberdeen, Centralia and Shelton Timberland libraries will resume Sunday afternoon hours for the school year. The libraries will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays from October 1, 2006 through May 27, 2007 (except on holidays that fall on Sunday).
The Ocean Park and Packwood Timberland libraries are open Sundays all year, except holidays. The other 18 branches of the Timberland Regional Library system are always closed on Sundays.
All year, people in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston counties can call and ask reference questions of TRL’s Central Reference librarians. The numbers are 704-INFO (4636) in the Olympia calling area, or 1-800-562-6022 toll free from all other areas. Hours: 9-9 Monday-Thursday; 9-6 Friday; 9-5 Saturday; 1-5 Sunday.
Some of the kinds of library information that people can access any time, any day through the Timberland Regional Library Web site at www.trlib.org include the following:
The catalog of books, movies, CDs and other items that library cardholders can borrow
The borrower’s library card account
The hours and locations of the 27 Timberland library branches
Calendars of the libraries’ free programs and events
Timberland library job volunteer opportunities
Information and fun for children, teens and parents
Full-text magazine article and reference databases for school, professional and business research and pursuits such as auto repair and genealogy (must have library card to access)
Internet sites selected by library staff and listed by popular subject areas
Timberland Regional Library serves the information, reading and lifelong learning needs of the Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston county public at 27 community libraries and 5 cooperative library centers. The library system is funded by local property taxes. Anyone needing special accommodations to participate in a library’s program should contact the library a week in advance.
