Shelton library to close June 1 for installation of new HVAC system
The Shelton Timberland Library (William G. Reed Library) will be closed from Thursday, June 1 until nearly the end of the month while the City of Shelton replaces the library’s HVAC (heating-ventilation-air conditioning) system. The library is expected to reopen Monday, June 26.
"The library must be completely closed during this project. Construction hazards and fumes will make the building unsafe for patrons and staff. However, we will do all we can to minimize the disruption of library services during this necessary closure," said Jodi Reng, Director of the Timberland Regional Library system.
Materials on hold: While the library is closed, books and other materials that library users have placed on hold will be mailed to them. Other options for patrons include changing the pickup location to another Timberland library or suspending current holds. Library staff will be happy to assist people in these processes.
Returns: People may return library materials to the library book drops as usual.
Renewals: There are several ways borrowers can renew items and review their library card accounts:
In addition, neighboring Timberland libraries offer access to computers, library materials, information services, programs, and the friendly assistance of library staff.
School-age youth working on year-end projects are encouraged to finish as much of their library-based work as possible before the closure. They can also use TRL’s online reference resources for homework help at various levels.
Hours of operation for the following libraries are posted on the TRL Web site at www.trlib.org
