Laila Lalami, Author of acclaimed “Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits,”
will talk at the Olympia library November 4

Laila LalamiLaila Lalami, author of the acclaimed novel, “Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits,” will read from her book and answer questions at the Olympia Timberland Library at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 4. A book signing will follow. The novel tells the stories of four Moroccans who risk their lives crossing the Straits of Gibraltar to Spain in a lifeboat and how the experience changes their lives.

Lalami was born and raised in Morocco and now lives in Portland, Oregon. Her work has appeared in major newspapers and magazines nationwide. Lalami is also the editor of the literary blog, Moorishgirl.com.
