The Winlock Timberland Library will be closed November 14 through 21 for carpet replacement. The Friends of the Winlock Timberland Library have been fundraising for this project for five years and will be paying the cost of $4,115 for the carpet and installation. A large sample of the new medium blue carpet can be seen at the library until the closure.

The Friends of the Library, several Timberland service center staff and volunteers are providing the labor of moving the shelving, furniture, books and other materials first to one side of the library and then the other for the carpet installation. The City of Winlock will haul away the old rose-gray carpet that was installed in 1987.

"The Winlock library staff appreciate patrons’ patience and understanding during the closure. We think the community will be pleased with the new look of the library," said Winlock Community Library Supervisor, Harriet Whisler.

All Timberland locations have begun mailing books and other materials to patrons who have placed holds on them and will continue to do so while the library is closed. Patrons may return books to the library’s book drops but the materials will not be checked in, as the computers will be disconnected.
