One evening only, the high-energy touring theater troupe, Activated Storytellers, will perform a free program for families from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, March 24 at the Black Hills High School Performing Arts Center, 7741 Littlerock Rd. SW, Tumwater.

Living up to their name, the group will use physical comedy, music, dance, zany props and audience participation to perform two plays. "The Ice Cream Cone," about the 1904 World's Fair, is staged as a melodrama, complete with audience cue cards for cheering the good guys and "hissing" the bad guy. "The Egyptian Cinderella" presents a new twist on a tale that can be found in some form in almost every culture in the world.

The show is presented by the Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater Timberland Libraries and sponsored by their local Friends of the Library groups. For more information, please contact one of the libraries: 352-0595 (Olympia), 491-3860 (Lacey), or 943-7790 (Tumwater).
