Tagline Contest Winners Announced

The Timberland Regional Library Board of Trustees has selected a tagline for the Library District. The tagline is Connecting Learning to Life. The winners of the contest are Pam Folsom of Olympia and Jenne Bennett of Olympia. A total of 928 entries were submitted from throughout the five counties that Timberland serves. Many people submitted several entries. Each winner will receive $100.

Jodi Reng, Timberland Regional Library Director said, “We were thrilled with the number and quality of the entries. The response is an indication of how many people value and love their library. We are pleased that people took the time to create and submit so many outstanding entries. It was a difficult choice for the Board and staff.”

Common themes among the entries included:

The life changing power of books and reading—A World Full of Discovery; A Reader is a Leader; Education, Exploration, Entertainment; For Every Mind a Place to Grow
Taglines that used the initials TRL--Think, Read & Learn, Total Resource for Living
Words about trees--Branching out; Your Information Tree; A Tree Full of Knowledge for Everyone; Keeping Your Mind Evergreen
The vast resources of the library--Not Just Books; Art, Music, Literature and More; Connecting People, Answers, Ideas and Dreams; The World at Your Fingertips
Usual library activities--Check Us Out, Amazing Resources from Friendly People
Humorous ones: Got Book; Moose to Seuss to Zeus; Book-a-licious; You Ask, We’ll Tell.

A tagline is a short phrase that describes in a few words what the Library does and what makes it unique. It becomes a part of the Library’s identity along with the logo.

Timberland Regional Library provides library services in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties.
