"New for You at Your Timberland Library"
May open houses at all Timberland libraries showcase public computer resources

Computer Resources Open House LogoResidents in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties have local access to the world of electronic information resources through their own Timberland Regional Library (TRL) branches. To showcase these resources and help individuals become familiar with them, each of the 27 Timberland libraries will host a "Computer Resources Open House" during May. The events also celebrate the Library’s new computer catalog system, installed in January. Mayors and other local elected officials will be present at many of the open houses and will offer brief remarks. Light refreshments will be served.

Drop in for demonstrations of TRL online resources such as these:

For personal and professional research: Continually updated online databases that are not available for free on the Web, but are free to Timberland library cardholders at the library as well as from home, work or school with an Internet connection to the TRL Web site, www.trlib.org

For book lovers, movie lovers, music lovers: New and improved ways to find and order the books, movies and music they want, using TRL’s new library catalog and Great Reads Web pages.

For kids: TimberKids and TeenZone, TRL’s online homework help databases and fun Web links, as well as booklists for different ages and interests; also games and educational CD-ROMs.

For everybody: Library cardholders can manage their library card accounts and personal booklists. And an option for busy people: Bypass the library circulation desk and check out books and other library items at a touch-screen Express Self-Checkout computer.

For more information, please visit the TRL Web site at www.trlib.org or call the local Timberland library.
