Photo of beach chairs on the beach - Winter Reading logoTimberland Regional Library’s seventh annual Adult Winter Reading Club is now in progress, offering a warm armchair getaway for winter. And while readers know that reading is its own reward, the program provides chances to win a prize as well.

Adults can pick up a brochure that includes a reading record and contest entry form at any of the 27 Timberland libraries in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston counties. For each five books participants read or listen to between now and March 31, they may turn in the completed form for a chance to win a mini-vacation or a reader’s gift bag, all donated by various businesses. Many libraries will also have local drawings for prizes provided by local businesses and Friends of the Library groups.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and have a current Timberland library card. Prizes will be drawn during National Library Week, April 18-24. Local Timberland libraries have complete rules, prize lists, and plenty of books to outlast the winter. Library staff can provide suggestions to anyone who would like help picking out great reads. In addition, many online reading advisory resources that guide people to books that suit them are available on Timberland’s website at www.trlib.org.
