Teens read for fun at Timberland libraries for Teen Read Week, October 17-23
Teens
will be reading just for the fun of it and enjoying programs and events designed
just for them during Teen Read Week, October 17 through 23, 2004. Timberland
Regional Library joins hundreds of other libraries, schools and bookstores each
year in the national celebration created by the Young Adult Library Services
Association. This year’s theme, "IT’S ALIVE! @ your library," spotlights
suspense, horror, mystery and science fiction and scary true stories.
All Timberland libraries have set up theme-related displays or carts of books and films for teens to check out. Most libraries will host events during and near the official week. Book suggestion forms are in all libraries now so teens can tell other teens about their favorite frightening reads. The suggestion forms are also available on the Timberland website at www.trlib.org under the Teen Read Week logo. The webpage also lists scary books and movies as well as events for middle and high school teens.
For more information, please contact your local Timberland library or visit the library system’s website at www.trlib.org.
