New Family Programs at the Mountain View & Packwood Libraries

The Mountain View and Packwood Timberland Libraries present five new summer programs conducted by volunteers of the Cispus AmeriCorps Team. Each program has a different topic, but all involve a story, activity and summary, and are designed for all ages. An adult must accompany children 6 years old and younger. Programs will be preformed at both the Mountain View (Randle) Timberland Library and the Packwood Timberland Library on Wednesday and Thursday evenings (respectively) from June 30 to July 29, 6 to 8 p.m. The five topics, in chronological order, are:

Astronomy – Discover the local nighttime sky through stories and activities.

Japanese Culture – Discover Japanese traditions. Have fun learning to use chopsticks and making an origami project.

Coral Reefs – Learn about life of corals and make your own coral reef.

Dinosaurs – Learn about dinosaurs and be an archeologist for the evening!

King Arthur – The legend of Arthur continues with stories and activities that bring Arthur and his Knights alive.

The programs are sponsored by the Cispus AmeriCorps Team and the Friends of the Mountain View and Packwood Timberland Libraries. For more information, call the Mountain View Timberland Library at (360) 497-2665 or the Packwood Timberland Library at (360) 494-5111.
