Travel to remote Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan at slideshow talk at Packwood library
Join biologist Tom Kogut at the Packwood Timberland Library from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday March 9 for an armchair tour of the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, "the Land of Thunder Dragon." Kogut will illustrate the talk with slides from photos he took while in Bhutan. The presentation is free of charge and geared to an age 12 to adult audience.
Bhutan is unique as the only remaining Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas. It lies east of Nepal, between India and China. The nation strictly controls tourism to maintain the pristine ecology of the country. Kogut is a biologist with the Forest Service in Randle.
For more information, please call the Packwood Timberland Library at (360) 494-5111. This presentation is sponsored by the Friends of the Mountain View and Packwood Timberland Libraries.
