20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Author:

Jules Verne

Review:

This book is a very interesting read! The topic usually wouldn't have interested me, but the way this book is written can grab anyone. A peculiar adventure under the sea with a professor of science, and an outcast who has made the underwater world his safe haven. I recommend this book to anyone with a long attention span :)and a love for the unknown.

Title:

Abarat

Author:

Clive Barker

Review:

Candy is a typical girl, living with a drunk father, pushover mother, and brother(s)(I cant remember if there is more than one)in Minnesota. All goes wrong and the adventure starts when Candy begins to draw lines in her text book. She can't figure out what they are, but she fills up pages and pages with them. Then, they start to move. She gets sent to the principal's office for defacing school property (of course, no one saw the waves), but doesn't ACTUALLY go. Instead, she runs out of the school and down streets, until she finds herself at the edge of town, where there is a field. She begins to walk around in the field, where she discovers seashells. IN MINNESOTA!! Before long, she has met an eight-headed creature. Every one of his heads is a brother and they are all named John. They are running from a hit man named Mendelson Shape, a tall, lanky creature, whose weapons are attached to his back. Soon enough, she is swept off into the world of Abarat (on an ocean in the middle of the field), which consists of 25 islands, one for every hour of the day (yes, there are twenty-five hours). (Have you read Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld? DO!! Its creepy!!) It is really REALLY good! The sequel, Days of Magic Nights of War is equally good and is a MUST read!!

All of her books

Author:

Tamora Pierce

Review:

I loved all of her books (ya, I've read all of 'em that have come out so far... I'm hooked on her writing). I really loved the Lioness Rampant Quartet, it's a great read for any girl... There is a little romance but it's not very descriptive and something I'd let an 8 year old read (maybe younger even). These books are all so well written and thrilling... I've read some of her books multiple times and I would read them again and again and again if I didn't have a million other thrilling books to read that I haven't yet (I'm a wee bit of a book worm as you may have guessed). I recommend the Lioness Rampant, (can't remember the name of the quartet with Diane), and the Protector of the Small to all girls who need a good thrilling adventure with a twing of romance. And the Circle of Magic and The Circle Opens to anyone who needs a good book to read.

Until Katies dog gets hit by a car and Katie needs money for the vet bill. She knows that she will have to tell her mom sometime. She keeps on putting it off, so when she actually tells her mom her mom gets FURIOUS!!! And tells her she cant have a dog. Katie tells her mom to leave her alone. The Angel Factory

Author:

Terence Blacker

Review:

This book was amazing, action-packed, and weird. "The Angel Factory" is about 12-year-old Thomas Wisdom, who discovers that he has been adopted and chosen to play a special part in an otherwordly effort to save mankind. He is introduced to the project after being set up by his best friend, his parents, and his parents' "boss." They are all angels. They were sent to Earth by the "Presence" to try to help mankind. Unfortunately, they are willing to stop at nothing to keep the project a secret. Thomas is the first step in the second phase of the project, and the fate of the world rests on his decision to either join or work against the angels. It was a rivering, edge-of-your-seat thriller.

This book was amazing, sad, and full of facts. I've read this book three times already! Every time I read it I can't put it down. It's about a girl who winds up in a hospital because her finger broke for no reason. She gets an Amish roommate who has many brothers and sisters, and she finds love in one of her roommate's brothers. This book explains many things but it is also a tale of love and sorrow.

This book is AMAZINGLY funny. You cannot read this book in public, because people stare as you laugh till your sides split. This book is basically a girl's diary. Everything is a bit different because she's English, but instead of her telling you about her day, she relives it for you. Her family is very funny, especially her little sister Libby. This is a four-book series, but they are SO good I bought all four. They rock!

This book was amazing, action-packed, scary, and sad. It is in the “Left Behind” series, and leaves you hanging on the last page. The next book in the series doesn’t come out until Spring 2004, so you will have time to read this book before then. There were some really funny parts, some really sad parts, some really, really cool parts. The whole book is really good, it is hard to believe what is going on. Some of it you want to be a different way, and other parts you think that is exactly what you wanted to happen. There are definitely some surprises, so look out!

Review:

This book was amazing. It's excellent, because it is humorous and exciting. This book is about a "clique" of four girls--Dylan, Massie, Alicia, and Kristen--who have known each other forever. They dress alike, they have regular Frieday night sleepovers, they go shopping together, but most of all, they all hate "the new girl." Claire, known as "the new girls," moves into a house on Massie's property, and tries to fit in, although Massie has no desire to even meet Claire. They are forced to be "friends." The Big Bad Wolf

Author:

James Patterson

Review:

Try catching America’s most wanted, unknown man, The Wolf. In “The Big Bad Wolf,” James Patterson takes you through part of the life of Alex Cross, a brand new FBI agent. Right after graduating from the FBI course, Alex Cross, a former big shot police officer, is on his first job as an agent. He was known for getting the bad guys really good, and best in the street work. But his new challenge is doing it the FBI way, the hard way. Alex Cross is in search for a man who no-one knows. The Wolf. The most feared, powerful, unseen criminal of his time. The man who keeps his identity a secret. The Wolf has been kidnapping various women, not to mention a few guys, around the world, and selling them as white slaves to many rich, perverted men. In the battle to keep his son from his ex-wife, getting the inside work done so he can get out in the street, and to keep his new job, Alex works to find The Wolf with a new vengeance. If you like some action, and some crime, then I’d suggest reading this book. With Patterson’s great imagination, and the fast-paced storyline, it’s a real hook. I don’t suggest that someone reads this if they don’t like harsh language, or some sexual content. But, for someone who likes realistic crime, FBI work, and some serious action, “The Big Bad Wolf” is a must.

First of all... I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! This was an awesome book talking about a guy named Pip (yeh i kno its a weird nick name). Anyway, Pip is a bit..well... i guess you would call him a pot head. He smokes, drinks, and does all that junk but mostly to forget about how his father treats him. On top of that, he has to deal with his little brother whom he's trying to basically raise, since his mother dumps most of the responsibilty on him. When the principal of his school threatens to call his father and get him expelled, Pip begins to see a counselor. This story shows how a sixteen yr old boy can invent his own future, without touching the ugly path his father made for his life.

The Boy Who Couldn't Die

Author:

William Sleator

Review:

This book was amazing, scary, and sad. The main characrer is a 16-year-old teen who recently found out that his best friend had died in a plane wreck. Ken, the teen, decided that he would find a way to be "immortal," so to speak. Ken soon finds out that there is a heavy price to pay for such protection, such as: a fear that his loved ones will be killed, shallower emotions, dreams where he murders people among other things, and the loss of his soul. I think Ken's dreams were perty creepy, but the price that Ken pays for his immortality is far worse.

Breaking Dawn

Author:

Stephenie Meyer

Review:

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful, outstanding book. This book was extremely exciting and suspenseful with a lot of twists, turns and cliff hangers. I found myself completely absorbed into the story line written in the book. I was oblivious of the things happening around me while being captivated by the book. It was a struggle for me to put Breaking Dawn down even for the shortest moment. I was unaware of my time spent on reading the story. Stephenie Meyer is a marvelous author. In her description she goes into great detail perfectly. When she describes a new setting I can picture it clearly and easily in my mind. I could imagine myself there in the setting that she describes, watching everything. This was a fictitious book, but Stephenie Meyer made this story so realistic you almost wish it was possible. The characters in Breaking Dawn were not true to life. They were beyond that, better than that. They are superhuman (even though they are not human at all), they have no limitations, no boundaries, and anything is possible! I would recommend this book to any one who likes drama, romance, suspense and who likes books that take you on an emotional journey. Throughout hatred, despair, excitement, pleasure, rejoice and especially an uneasy stomach. Breaking Dawn is a book you will NEVER forget!

Helen and James are just two normal lovers…except for the fact that they are both actually spirits and are over 100 years old. The fear the Helen feels when James walks up to her and introduces himself for the first time is quickly replaced by intrigue and a deep love and need for him. As the compelling story of their past and future unfolds, the parallels between their lives become the necessary key that allows them to move on to the next life together. This beautiful story of love, life, and the possibility of life after death is a must read for all high school students. It captures the essence of our society today and how it may relate to someone from another time. A satisfying conclusion wraps up an equally satisfying plot and story.

A Child Called "It"

Author:

Dave Pelzer

Review:

A Child Called “It” is very depressing and is sadly a true story. David is a very young and innocent boy who doesn't have a very pleasant life at home or school. He has to do different odd chores around the house and has to stay in the basement without getting any food for at least a week and doesn't get to play with his friends or other siblings. At school he gets teased about smelling because his mother wont let him bathe. David tries to take bagged lunches from kids during recess or before school to try to get some food in his system and gets caught most of the time. His mother is very cruel, she takes out all of her anger on David and he doesn't even do anything to her to make her angry with him. His father has to sit and watch him get beaten everyday and doesn't do anything about it. Which I don't understand because at any time David's father tries to give him food but can't take him away from his mother. I thought it was strange because David has two other brothers and another brother on the way and his mother just chooses to pick on him. If you can't handle nasty things like throwing up what you have just eaten, burning yourself on a stove, or getting locked in the bathroom with different cleaning chemicals then this wouldn't be a very good book to be reading but there isn't that much nasty things in this book. I would recommend this book to people who like to read real life stories about abused children and how they fought back and started their own lives with no abuse toward their own children.

This book was amazing. You're drawn into the world of a teenage immigrant, facing the normal challenges of American teens along with the challenges of clashing cultures. The main character is a Cambodian teenager who has fled her country with her aunt and uncle's family the second the radio she was listening to sounded a warning. Her mother, father, sister, and brother were left behind. Also left behind was her childhood sweetheart.

I like this book because it introduces you to the actual hardships Cambodian immigrants had before and after their arrival in the United States; it allows you to feel empathy for the character. It opened my eyes to the past situation in Cambodia, and to the present situation. Also, the book takes place in a local setting (Oregon), so you can feel the history of the setting. The story is based upon the author's knowledge of the life of her Cambodian friends who work on her land.

The books in this series are amazing, and quite simply wonderful. They present the world of Wicca in a non-fluffy way. There are not many books for teen wiccans out there that we can relate to, but these we can. This series is about three friends: Kate, Cooper (my favorite), and Annie. In Book 1, Kate works a love spell that backfires, and she goes to Cooper the rocker chick and Annie the brainy one. They quickly become friends. Soon, they start attending a weekly class together to learn more about Wicca. They encounter many different things along their path. They are not about throwing fire balls, or levitating, or any of that mumbo-jumbo (like in the Sweep series). These are far the best series books for a young Wiccan to read.

Close to a Killer

Author:

Marsha Qualey

Review:

This book was amazing and scary. The book CLOSE TO A KILLER is a mystery novel about Daria Dupree's successful hair salon, Killer Looks, and about a second-hand bookstore. This is a good name for the salon because all of the stylists, including Daria herself, are convicted murderers who have already served their time and now are making new lives for themselves.

Daria ended up in prison, after being involved in a protest at a nuclear power facility. She planted a bomb in a car, which went off before it was supposed to, and she paid for this with 15 years of her life. She created the salon to get back on her feet. She has a 17-year-old daughter, Barrie, who isn't thrilled by the prospect of staying with her ex-con mom while her dad and his wife spend a year in Europe. After Daria's conviction, she and Barrie's father had divorced, and her father married Melissa. Barrie lived with them during the time her mother was in prison. However, when Melissa won a fellowship to study in Paris, Barrie's father decided that she should live with her mother.

Barrie writes stories in her notebook and earns money at her mother's salon. Barrie is at the heart of the intrigue. She collects 1950s career romances and old photographs, writing imaginative but morose stories about the people in the pictures. Her ideas for writing based on old photographs oddly connect helping the poor with adolescent angst.

Business booms at Killer Looks until the husband of a wealthy client and then another customer are brutally slain in their suburban fashionable homes. People in the city start to accuse the ex-cons of the hair salon. The business takes a nosedive and Barrie and Daria become the targets of anonymous vandalism. Their house is vandalised, their shop is burned, Barrie has the feeling she's being stalked, and an acquaintence is thrown under a moving train. Barrie is caught up in a plot that keeps bringing her ever closer to the killer.

College Weekend

R.L. Stine

Review:

Tina Rivers was really looking forward to the weekend she would be spending with her boyfriend Josh Martin even though her cousin Holly will be with her. When Tina and Holly arrive at the boy friend's room they do not find him and instead Christopher Roberts is there saying Tina's boyfriend is stuck in the mountains because of car trouble. Tina states that Josh never had told her anything about that. Things get even stranger when Holly disappears. In the end Christopher ends up being a murderer. How would you like to read that? This book is filled with more love and murder you expect. Once you start reading it you can't stop. It is as if you know something bad will happen because of the way the author does such a good job foreshadowing. I recommend this book to teenagers because being able to relate to books with people your own age is very thrilling. There was a place in the book where Tina and Chris are on the Ferris wheel and Chris threatens Tina that if she doesn't kiss him he will flip it. In that part of the story I felt like if I was in it and imagined myself scared and forced to kiss him, and there are many other parts in the book like that. Christopher a very scary guy, Tina, an overdramatic girl, and Holly a shy, spoiled girl make this book very exciting.

Coming Through the Rye

Author:

Grace Livingston Hill

Review:

I LIKED this book because it is about a young girl who has lost her mother and her father in part of a horrible scheme that she doesn't know about. But the scheme is what her father claimed was going to make money for her. She doesn't know what to believe, her father or the handsome detective who pinned the scheme on her father. I liked this book because it was action-filled, romantic, and a book where the character trusts in God for her needs. This is definitely a winner for anyone who likes to read what is described above. Enjoy!

The Convicts

Author:

Iain Lawrence

Review:

This book is a fictional story, which happens to be based on true events. The main character is sentenced to prison for boys, and is put onto a juvenile ship. He has to learn how to make friends quickly, as there is a gang-like atmosphere on the ship. The second book is even better than the first, but don't read the second one without reading the first, because you would lose the effect. In the second book, he escapes the ship, only to find islands inhabited by cannibals. It is very intense at times!

Crazy Jack

Author:

Review:

This book was funny, sad, and weird. It is a re-telling of the traditional "Jack and the Beanstalk" story. In this book, Jack witnesses his father's supposed suicide and it changes him forever. People start avoidng him, calling him "Crazy Jack." In a last ditch attempt to do right for his mother, Jack sells their milkcow to a fairy who is wearing Jack's father's shirt for a handful of magic beans that he (the fairy) found in the pocket. Jack plants the beans and they grow overnight up into the clouds. He climbs the beanstalk up to the giant's land. The story ends with Jack finding out how his father really died. He also finds true love and true happiness. I didn't want this book to end!

Medieval is great, especially if there is a new take on it! Get inside the protagonist's head and explore the world of Meliara Astiar on her quest as ignorant Countess to rescue the kingdom from Greedy Galdran. I had to say that. But that sums up what I like about it. It's exciting, and interesting, definitely a teenager's book. (Although I read it in the 5th grade.) I've read it so many times since (at the library) that I finally bought my own copy! It's also two books in one!

She is ignorant in the ways of "modesty," her speech is deplorable, her embroidery is as crooked as a tree after a gale, and her dining manners are disgusting! Determined not to be beaten by a certain Clarissa, Jacky hangs in there, but no matter how hard she tries to behave she seems to be a magnet for trouble. I thought it was hilarious, suspenseful, and hilarious again. I beg you to read it!

Marcus is a Legionaire in Britannia - a post he's dreamed of getting. His father was the commander of the Ninth Legion - which went mysteriously missing on its last mission. Nothing was found of its whereabouts - even its Eagle was gone. When Marcus's leg is wounded, he's honorably discharged from the Legion, and he goes to live with his uncle. There, he hears rumors that a neighboring barbarian tribe has an Eagle God - and it suspiciously sounds like the missing Ninth Legion's Eagle. Marcus is determined to retrieve the Eagle, and restore his family's honor. The descriptions in this book are amazing, as is the historical detail. The characters are all very memorable and there's lots of action. History and non-history fans will love it.

Eclipse

Author:

Stephenie Meyer

Review:

It is the third book in Stephenie Meyer’s series: Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. They are all about a girl named Bella and how she must choose between love and friendship. In the first book it was all about Bella being in love with Edward (who’s a vampire) and how he doesn’t want to hurt her. So he thought he should leave and have her forget about him, so he did and it didn’t work out very well. While he was gone Bella began to fall in love with Jacob (who’s a werewolf), in the second book. When Edward came back she went back to loving Edward but then soon realized that her love for Jacob was too strong. In Eclipse she has to choose who she loved more without hurting them or herself. So who would it be, Edward, who was as cold as ice (literally) or Jacob, who was as hot as fire (literally)? Read to find out. I would suggest this book to anyone over 11, but you may stumble on a few words. If you like the book Twilight you should see it: it is going to be coming out in a theaters sometime in December 2008.

Review:

The novel Eclipse, by Stephenie Meyer, takes place in Forks, La Push, and Seattle Washinton. It's about a girl names Bella Swan who is in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. In this book, Bells is finally realizing that she loves her friend Jacob Black as well as Edward. Bella must decide between life and death. But she doesn't know which one is which. This book is about love, friendship, and trust. It's about being with the people you love most, and still being able to keep your friends close. If this book looks interesting to you, I would suggest reading Twilight and New Moon first. Once you have read these books and Eclipse, you can wait for Stephanie Meyer's final book, Breaking Dawn. I would reccomend this series to 7th and 8th graders. I LOVE reading these books and I bet you will too!!! (The first book, Twilight, is currently being made into a movie and will be released in theatres in December, 2008. You should see it!!!!!!)

Ella had to obey anything anybody said, whether it was hopping on one foot for a day and a half or chopping off her own head. Then Ella's mother dies and she ends up meeting Prince Charmont. Her father remarries and her step-mother sends her to a school for girls, which she hates. The only thing she doesn't hate is her new friend there, but when her step-sister orders her not to be friends with her anymore, she is so miserable, she runs away. I really enjoyed this novel. It attempted to answer the question of what happens after life. Liz Hall is a 15 year old girl who is full of potential. Or at least she was full of potential before her life was tragically taken away after a hit and run accident. Liz finds herself in a whole new world where she is forced to live her life backwards. At the beginning she is a skeptic. She mourns for the life she has lost. She had many hopes, including to fall in love and begin her true teenage years as a licensed driver. In her new world she believes that her life is over. In a sense it is, but she is now able to live a different life. A life where death is not a concern. Although this new form of life seems stress-free and full of freedom, it has its downfalls. Will Liz ever find her place within this new world or continue to be convinced that a world without her past is not life worth living?

I thought this book had all the components for a fantasy for all ages. This book, to be blunt, is nothing more than wonderful; it's amazing. Truth be told, when I first saw it, I was somewhat iffy, the summary looked bland and after reading the first page, I had concluded that it was nothing more than a suicidal story about some obese teenager. As right as I was, there was much more to it, and I have to say that the story is much deeper. After you get into the book (which happens within the first few pages) you're basically hooked. Not only that, but a majority of the things going in within it really relate to things a teenager goes through. Between dealing with issues from idiots at school, to the mere fact of believing that someone does accept you for who you are. In a nutshell--'cause I'm ranting--I liked this book because it's one of few I can relate to, not only that, but it managed to change my judgmental views on people on the likes. If you're interested in rock, interesting characters, and something "real", this book is a must. ; DD

I really liked this book because it is about a girl who lives on an island where the water keeps rising and everyone there doesn't like her because she is a loner. So, she plans an escape with a boat she found and then takes off in it. Eventually, she sees a cathedral that appears to be floating in the water and she goes to it; little does she know all the people there are kids and once she gets there the leader tries to keep her there, and she then has to plan another escape.

I like how this book has good detail. It's about a person who stand up for what he beleives in. The main characters are: Noah (a boy who has to help get his dad out of jail), Abbey (the little sister of Noah), Mother (who is married to Father and mother of Noah and Abbey), and last, Father (who is married to mother and is the father of Noah and Abbey).

Forged By Fire

Sharon M. Draper

Review:

Forged by Fire was a very good book. It talks about a little boy Gerald who is going through a very hard life. When he was 3 years old, his mom left him at home by himself for crack. Well he didn't know any better so he found a lighter and started playing with it. Suddenly he started a fire. Waking up at the hospital, Aunt Queen went to get him and got custody of him. His mom went to jail for 7 years. He stayed with his aunt till one day she got a stroke and died. Gerald found out that his mom was out of jail so he had to move in with her and his stepdad. His mom barely told him that he had a little sister. His stepdad would always abuse him and his little sister. Gerald got tired of it until finally he figured out a way to step up to him for all the things he's done to him and his little sister.

I got this book for Christmas. I did not think I would like it because it has a girl hero. I like Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl. But this girl is a REAL hero. She cares about the planet and saving her family's farm. She gets help from the spirit of the earth, who teaches her earth magic. I could not stop reading it until I was done. This is the best book I have read since The Opal Deception

The Golden Cat

Author:

Gabriel King

Review:

The Golden Cat is a wonderful book about some cats that are on a journey to stop the Alchemist, who cages and kills cats for his own evil scientific purposes. It is actually the sequel to The Wild Road, which you should definitely read first (you might not understand some of the book if you don’t). The main cats are: Tag, who is the Majicon (the most powerful cat); Cy, a nice, slightly crazy tabby kitten; Sealink, a cat who has traveled all over the world (almost); Pertelot Fitzwilliam, an Egyptian Manx who has just had three kittens, and is Queen of Cats; Ragnar Gustaffson Coeur de Lion, the King of Cats; and Animal X, a cat taken by the Alchemist’s minions who doesn’t even remember what the outside is like (or his name). There is also Loves a Dustbin, a fox who helped the original Majicon in his quest to defeat the Alchemist in The Wild Road.

Sealink, originally in care of Loves a Bustbin, leaves on a jetliner to ol’ New Orleans, which, she finds, has changed quite a bit. The cats and kittens have been disappearing here and there. How? Why? Meanwhile, Tag, Pertelot, and Ragnar have problems of their own. They have lost two of their kittens, Odin and Isis, and try to find them with Cy and their remaining kitten, Leonora. It has a great plot and is very interesting. But again, I warn you, you will probably get confused if you don’t read the prequel, The Wild Road.

If you like the Victorian era and magic, than this is the book for you. No it isn't like Harry Potter where they can't make things float. This book is about a girl who is psychic. The following is from Libba Bray's web sight. "It’s 1895, and after the suicide of her mother, 16-year-old Gemma Doyle is shipped off from the life she knows in India to Spence, a proper boarding school in England. Lonely, guilt-ridden, and prone to visions of the future that have an uncomfortable habit of coming true, Gemma’s reception there is a chilly one. To make things worse, she’s been followed by a mysterious young Indian man, a man sent to watch her. But why? What is her destiny? And what will her entanglement with Spence’s most powerful girls—and their foray into the spiritual world—lead to?"

Great Expectations

Author:

Charles Dickens

Review:

Great Expectations tells the story of Pip, an orphaned boy who lives with his sister and brother-in-law, Joe, the blacksmith. In his early years he is happy in his home, despite his sister's anger, and looks forward to the time when he shall become apprenticed to Joe. But when he grows older, he is summoned by Miss Havisham to her manor house. He is tormented by the beautiful and cruel Estella, with whom he falls in love. Estella's stinging words towards Pip soon make him ashamed of his poor family and his ignorance, and he passes years in discontent, until, one day, he is informed that he has come into possession of "great expectations." He is to move to London, and always to keep the name of Pip, and someday, his benefactor will reveal him/herself... This is an amazing book. The plot is gripping, and it's great fun to watch the puzzle pieces come together in the end. The style is not so hard to understand as one might fear, and Dickens has a wonderful, dry sense of humor that makes the book a delight to read.

Grip of the Shadow Plague (Fablehaven series, Book 3)

Author:

Brandon Mull

Review:

If you like the Harry Potter series you’ll love this. Brandon Mull brings you into the fantastic fiction world of Fablehaven with his third book, Grip of the Shadow Plague, and gets you inside the heads of Seth, Kendra, and the many other occupants of Fablehaven Kendra Sorensen is a young 14 year old girl who has just graduated from middle school. Her brother Seth is a 10 year old boy with a lot of heart but not all of mind. Kendra and Seth find themselves in Fablehaven once again after the previous year. This time things are different. Not only is Kendra fairy-struck and her brother immune to magical fear, but Fablehaven is going into chaos as Kendra leaves for an important mission in Lost Mesa, another magical preserve. They suspect a certain person to be causing this misfortune, the Sphinx. The Sphinx is a certain creature that can morph into anything but he mostly stays looking like a human. The Sphinx has been an ally protecting preserves for thousands of years, or is he trying to take them down? A prisoner in the Fablehaven dungeon gave information that the Sphinx was a traitor and so they follow the lead and try to reveal his true identity. I think I’m like Kendra because although I don’t seek adventure it comes to me through curiosity. Which is how I am related to Seth: he is always curious, unlike Kendra, and he also does stupid things like wander off in the middle of the night, and I admit I’ve done some stupid things of my own. So basically what this book is about is 2 kids whose childhood is packed full of adventure and excitement. I think this book teaches you to be careful who you trust and keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
