I liked this book because Johannes (Mark) is growing up in South Africa under Apartheid. He has a miserable childhood but still he gets a scholarship to Harvard in America. After I read the book I said that I can never say never again!

Review:

This book, and its sequel, Glass, are two of the best books I have ever read. The story of Kristina AKA Bree's struggle with "the monster" are so real. I would have given it 5 stars but the format it's written in is strange and takes some getting used to.

Review:

Marisol is lesbian. She is living with her gay best friend who loves to bring home strays.(animals and people) Marisol wants to be a writer so she takes a writing class. She falls for the teacher, who falls for her. It gets complicated cuz another girl likes Marisol as well. I really liked this book. It shows that not every book has a happy ending and not every relationship will work out.

Rainey's never had it easy. Her mother ran away when she was a baby, she was born without a leg, her father re-married, and she has a crush on a guy that has no interest in her. So she goes to a camp where there are a lot of surprises and a relationship. :) It was a really great book expecially for the summer.

This book is about Hate Crimes. Noah (a teen father) and his friends set out to steal a car in a "white" neighborhood. Only they get beat down and Noah gets his head smashed open. The rest of the book is basically about the trial and the injustices of society.

Review:

I liked Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone because when Harry found out he was a wizard he didn't belive Hagrid (who took care of him for a short time after Harry's parents died). My favorite character is Harry Potter 'cause he is Brave, Proud, Loyal, Friendly, and has High Self-Esteem. I also like this book because of how it's about wizards. I dislike these few chapters in the book 'cause Harry thinks Snape is the one trying to get past Fluffy the three headed dog, but it turned out to be Qurieel.

I love this book because there's always another action part in each chapter. Example: If you're bored and you don't feel like reading and you just get so bored that you have to pick up a book even though you absolutely know that you won't be reading for long, then you start and you don't stop! Wintergirls

Author:

Laurie Halse Anderson

Review:

Wintergirls is a really intimate look into the life of Cassie. She's anorexic and her best friend just died. Cassie is trying to get over her friend's death and "stay strong" aka eat nothing. I thought it was an extremely well written, sad story. I've heard a lot about anorexia, but this book went up close and personal. You could sort of relate to how Cassie was feeling, not in the way that it'd make YOU stop eating, but you just understand where she's coming from. Laurie Halse Anderson is an incredible author and she really made this story come to life. I'd recommend Wintergirls to anyone who likes her other books.

Sabine was kicked out of her last school because she predicated the death of the homecoming king. Now, at her new school, she is determined not to let her strange visions get in the way of her new life. But when she begins having visions about a girl with a dragonfly tattoo, she is worried for the girl. This book is suspenseful, interesting, and romantic in parts. I highly reccomend it.

This book was by far amazing. I stumbled upon it at Borders. The beginning was great. The author knows the reader is depending on what the character says to set the stage, and he uses that. The Named

Author:

Marianne Curley

Review:

This book, “The Named,” was a very exciting and catastrophic book to read. I think that this book is also definitely on my top 10 books that I have read that I have enjoyed because it is full of cliffhangers, and I love cliffhangers! An example is the ending when it tells that Arkarian disappears. This book kept me on the edge of my seat about ready to fall off every chapter. Another thing I thought was interesting and clever about this book it that instead of numbered and titled chapters like most books, this book rotates in and out from both main characters (Ethan and Isabel’s) point of view which gives the reader more of a perspective on the book and into both characters' eyes. Another fantastic quality that the author brings into this book is that many of us teens can relate to this book because if all the struggles that go on as a teen. But, on the other hand, other parts of the book only relates to unnatural teens that are juggling a double life as a normal teen and a member of the guard trying to stop the Order of Chaos from destroying life as we know it! Talk about your teenage troubles! Anyways, I would strongly recommend this book to any child, tween, teen, adult, and maybe a couple adventurous grandpas or grandmas. Any age is guaranteed to absolutely love this book so if you love exciting, amazing, thrilling, and just plain fantastic books go to your local Timberland Library and pick one up. You won’t regret it!

Kingdom Keepers

Author:

Ridley Pearson

Review:

In the Kingdom Keepers, Finn Whitman, a middle school student, auditions to become a Disney Interactive Host. Finn along with four other teen models are turned into holograms to guide visitors around the Magic Kingdom theme park. After being turned into holograms the five friends start having strange dreams about being in the park after closing. They find themselves in the middle of Main Street in their pajamas. During these dreams Finn and the other learn that a group of evil Overtakers are trying to take over Disney World and unleash their evil on the outside world. The Overtakers are led by Maleficent the witch from Sleeping Beauty. Finn and the other teens set out on a series of adventures through the park. Along the way they get help from Wayne, a Disney Imaginer who lives in the fire station on Main Street. Wayne becomes their guide and friend on the adventures. Along the way Finn and the others get help from Disney characters on their quest to save the park from the Overtakers. I liked this book because it was exciting and fast paced. I like the adventures in the Magic Kingdom with the Disney characters and the rides. I have been to Disney World twice and reading this book reminded me of all the fun I had at the parks. I could picture the rides and the adventures that Finn and his friend were having. The author gives the reader vivid images of what Finn and the others were experiencing. The author did a good job of describing all the characters except for the girls; they sort of disappear in parts of the book and Finn doesn’t know if he can trust them. It was also a surprise to find out that Amanda and Jezebel were sisters. Through most of the book you have no idea they are related. Little is known about Amanda but the reader does find out that Jezebel has a dark side and may be working with Maleficent. I have to admit that the book was sometime confusing, but in the end it made sense. The ending was lame, but I think it’s because the author left it open for another book. Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense thrillers and the Magic Kingdom. If you like to read this book could easily be read in a day or two. This book was a weird exciting adventure. It’s worth the time to read this book.

Breaking Dawn

Author:

Stephenie Meyer

Review:

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful, outstanding book. This book was extremely exciting and suspenseful with a lot of twists, turns and cliff hangers. I found myself completely absorbed into the story line written in the book. I was oblivious of the things happening around me while being captivated by the book. It was a struggle for me to put Breaking Dawn down even for the shortest moment. I was unaware of my time spent on reading the story. Stephenie Meyer is a marvelous author. In her description she goes into great detail perfectly. When she describes a new setting I can picture it clearly and easily in my mind. I could imagine myself there in the setting that she describes, watching everything. This was a fictitious book, but Stephenie Meyer made this story so realistic you almost wish it was possible. The characters in Breaking Dawn were not true to life. They were beyond that, better than that. They are superhuman (even though they are not human at all), they have no limitations, no boundaries, and anything is possible! I would recommend this book to any one who likes drama, romance, suspense and who likes books that take you on an emotional journey. Throughout hatred, despair, excitement, pleasure, rejoice and especially an uneasy stomach. Breaking Dawn is a book you will NEVER forget!

For readers (particularly girls) over about 12 or 13, I would highly recommend the Twilight Saga. It's very romantic, if you can get over the fact that Edward is a vampire. They are very easy to get into and they're very addicting. And...in answer to another girl's question...I don't think Robert Pattinson is hot enough to portray Edward, but he is good-looking. Taylor Launter IS hot, though. He's smokin'!!!

Review:

This was a very interesting book and kept the romance between Bella and Edward going, but took a bit more violent and sexual turn. The bits of sexual stuff must be somewhat accepted, considering that the book tells about Edward and Bella's HONEYMOON, and it isn't very explicit, but younger readers should beware. There is quite a bit of blood (no pun intended) and a bit of somewhat sick stuff with Bella, but overall this book was good. I liked hearing more about Jacob.

Forged by Fire was a very good book. It talks about a little boy Gerald who is going through a very hard life. When he was 3 years old, his mom left him at home by himself for crack. Well he didn't know any better so he found a lighter and started playing with it. Suddenly he started a fire. Waking up at the hospital, Aunt Queen went to get him and got custody of him. His mom went to jail for 7 years. He stayed with his aunt till one day she got a stroke and died. Gerald found out that his mom was out of jail so he had to move in with her and his stepdad. His mom barely told him that he had a little sister. His stepdad would always abuse him and his little sister. Gerald got tired of it until finally he figured out a way to step up to him for all the things he's done to him and his little sister.

The Shack

Author:

William P. Young

Review:

What do you think will happen after you just lost your daughter? Will you neglect your family? Will you get closer to your family? Will you turn to God? Or will you lose faith in him? In the book called “THE SHACK” you will see things in a way you never saw them before. So read the fictional novel “THE SHACK”: By: William P. Young The protagonist is Mackenzie, “Mack” for short. He is his own antagonist. He has internal conflict that keeps him away from others. This story takes place at the shack where The Great Sadness clung on to him. Here is where he meets God. He learns many things from God, Jesus, and Sarayu that he would have never learned anywhere else. I had a great reading experience while reading this book. It confused me, brought me tears, and brought me to see things from a different perspective. I would say that everyone should read this book. It brings all kinds of emotions into play while reading this book. Reading this book changed my perspective of God. This book is not part of a series so you can’t a sequel to this wonderful book. If you like books that have inner conflict, emotional turmoil, and life lessons then this is the book for you. I connected with Mack: he was keeping everyone away from him with an emotional barrier. I liked the way the writer wrote the book by what happened and am surprised at some of the events. This book is good enough to keep in mind when there is a problem you have or there is something you can’t talk to anyone about. God is always with you.

In The Name Of The Father

Author:

Gerry Conlon

Review:

In “In The Name Of the Father” a young boy named Gerry Conlon (who happens to be the author of the book) starts off the story that will make you never want to put the book down and just keep reading until the book is over and the tragedy that is this man’s life is over. It is about how a young boy grows up oppressed for being Irish by everyone who isn’t, especially the police. This boy likes to steal, drink, do drugs, and gamble. That’s why I like this book so much because it is truthful and tells you how it would happen: instead of making everything seem ok it lets you in on all the gruesome details of this man’s life. But none of these crimes are why this man is in jail. The reason that this Irish thug is in jail is because of a terrorist group called the IRA bombed a local pub and Gerry and a lot other Irish were blamed for it and told that they were in the IRA. So Gerry is convicted to a life’s sentence of 30 years with no chance of bail. So he is moved around from jail being humiliated, beaten, starved and deprived from sunlight and exercise. So while he is slowly losing his will and hope that the police will stop being so foolish to think that he a thug could ever be part of a terrorist group like the IRA, his dad and family also get charged with being a part of the IRA. But in order to find out more about this book you will have to read it for yourself and take the trip into your own imagination and read this amazing book for yourself. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars possible because this book is so great that anyone can pick this book up and immediately be enchanted by this book the way I have. Unfortunately this is the only book of its kind there are no books that I have ever read that can compare to this book at all.

The Big Bad Wolf

Author:

James Patterson

Review:

Try catching America’s most wanted, unknown man, The Wolf. In “The Big Bad Wolf,” James Patterson takes you through part of the life of Alex Cross, a brand new FBI agent. Right after graduating from the FBI course, Alex Cross, a former big shot police officer, is on his first job as an agent. He was known for getting the bad guys really good, and best in the street work. But his new challenge is doing it the FBI way, the hard way. Alex Cross is in search for a man who no-one knows. The Wolf. The most feared, powerful, unseen criminal of his time. The man who keeps his identity a secret. The Wolf has been kidnapping various women, not to mention a few guys, around the world, and selling them as white slaves to many rich, perverted men. In the battle to keep his son from his ex-wife, getting the inside work done so he can get out in the street, and to keep his new job, Alex works to find The Wolf with a new vengeance. If you like some action, and some crime, then I’d suggest reading this book. With Patterson’s great imagination, and the fast-paced storyline, it’s a real hook. I don’t suggest that someone reads this if they don’t like harsh language, or some sexual content. But, for someone who likes realistic crime, FBI work, and some serious action, “The Big Bad Wolf” is a must.

Grip of the Shadow Plague (Fablehaven series, Book 3)

Brandon Mull

Review:

If you like the Harry Potter series you’ll love this. Brandon Mull brings you into the fantastic fiction world of Fablehaven with his third book, Grip of the Shadow Plague, and gets you inside the heads of Seth, Kendra, and the many other occupants of Fablehaven Kendra Sorensen is a young 14 year old girl who has just graduated from middle school. Her brother Seth is a 10 year old boy with a lot of heart but not all of mind. Kendra and Seth find themselves in Fablehaven once again after the previous year. This time things are different. Not only is Kendra fairy-struck and her brother immune to magical fear, but Fablehaven is going into chaos as Kendra leaves for an important mission in Lost Mesa, another magical preserve. They suspect a certain person to be causing this misfortune, the Sphinx. The Sphinx is a certain creature that can morph into anything but he mostly stays looking like a human. The Sphinx has been an ally protecting preserves for thousands of years, or is he trying to take them down? A prisoner in the Fablehaven dungeon gave information that the Sphinx was a traitor and so they follow the lead and try to reveal his true identity. I think I’m like Kendra because although I don’t seek adventure it comes to me through curiosity. Which is how I am related to Seth: he is always curious, unlike Kendra, and he also does stupid things like wander off in the middle of the night, and I admit I’ve done some stupid things of my own. So basically what this book is about is 2 kids whose childhood is packed full of adventure and excitement. I think this book teaches you to be careful who you trust and keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

Nineteen Minutes

Author:

Jodi Piccoult

Review:

I loved this book for several reasons. Though it tells the very serious story of what led one character to commit a school shooting that ended with ten people dead and another nineteen wounded, the entire book isn't just about death and the sadness that it caused. This novel is so much more than that. It is romance, friendship, fitting in at high school, discovering the difficulty in juggling raising a teenager and balancing a job, and so much more. The characters, though they ranged greatly in age, all had the common struggle of trying to fit in with family, friends, and society. It also teaches how quickly one's life can change; in nineteen minutes, one can fold laundry for a family of five, drive to the grocery store, or even check their e-mail, yet in nineteen minutes everything you once held dear could be gone. There's no way I'll ever forget reading this book!

Great Expectations

Author:

Charles Dickens

Review:

Great Expectations tells the story of Pip, an orphaned boy who lives with his sister and brother-in-law, Joe, the blacksmith. In his early years he is happy in his home, despite his sister's anger, and looks forward to the time when he shall become apprenticed to Joe. But when he grows older, he is summoned by Miss Havisham to her manor house. He is tormented by the beautiful and cruel Estella, with whom he falls in love. Estella's stinging words towards Pip soon make him ashamed of his poor family and his ignorance, and he passes years in discontent, until, one day, he is informed that he has come into possession of "great expectations." He is to move to London, and always to keep the name of Pip, and someday, his benefactor will reveal him/herself... This is an amazing book. The plot is gripping, and it's great fun to watch the puzzle pieces come together in the end. The style is not so hard to understand as one might fear, and Dickens has a wonderful, dry sense of humor that makes the book a delight to read.

This book was totally amazing. It is about a girl who's mother has cancer and her father is always with her mother so she is alone. She meets a boy in the park and he is a vampire. He needs her help to defeat his brother. This is a great book. I couldn't put it down. I can kinda relate to the parents part but not so much to the vampire part. This book was just as good as the first. Edward does something he regrets and now Bella is left to deal with the worst problem ever. When she puts her life in the hands of Jacob Black, things get bad. He's the only one Bella has left and now things get worse. Another vampire is after Bella and she only has Jacob. When Bella does something to upset Edward, she goes to save him from something terrible. Is there enough time? The ending was my absolute FAVORITE part in the book. Read the book, it's just as awesome as Twilight.

the last universe

Author:

william sleator

Review:

I liked the book because the part of this book that I thought was good was the ending, because the characters had to find a different dimension (a dimension is like another universe) where Suzan's brother, Gary, wasn’t sick. Gary was getting weaker and weaker. He thinks that a flower called the lotus has something to do with quantum physics, because at night it goes and like gets sucked in, but while it's daylight it sprouts everywhere. Gary says that lotuses grow only in tropical areas like the Bahamas but then Suzan sees a few of them next to the outhouse that they have, so then Luke (the owner of the outhouse) says he doesn’t know why they are growing there because he claims he has never seen them before in his life. So Suzan and Gary are trying to find out why they're growing there and they both go inside and see a maze behind the garden. They have to find out why the maze suddenly appears there, because they’re curious, so then they take Sro-dee (the cat that belongs to Luke) and they go into the maze. While they are walking the cat Suzan sees that they’re all becoming partially invisible and they don’t know why. Then the cat turned and took them down a path, and then it's like they're in a ghost town. Then they find their house that they live in now and its their great grandfather's house, so they go inside and sit down around these huge round tables with their relatives. And they’re all talking about how it’s a weird dimension thing that’s going on and so Suzan has to write down a physics problem and then they walk back down the path but this time Suzan was scared because the cat just sat down and she thought the cat wasn’t going to move ever again, so she and Gary were about to cry because they don’t know the way back and they think that they're going to die. But then the cat gets back up and takes them home. When they go back home Suzan has to take medicine and she is feeling more weak then ever before and she realizes in the dimension where they now that she is the one who's sick. So I would rate this book at a 4 out of 5 because it was exciting.

David Lubar is a great author, and I'm reading a lot of his books. But this book is really amazing. It's about a guy who has to try to survive his freshman year in High School. His friends don't like him anymore, and he's all alone. But he makes two more friends--friends that nobody else likes besides him. But they're good friends, and they stick by him and help him take his mom to the hospital when she's having a baby. This is a great book.

This book wasn't your average teenage book. This was sort of confusing in the beginning but once I understood what was happening, I got totally hooked. Literally. After school I would lock myself up in my room and read until about 10. Anyway, the Host is about a girl named Wanderer who is not a human and is part of an Alien takeover. But when she is put inside of a human named Melanie, she can't control her mind. The aliens are not like the aliens that you would normally see. They are little worm like things that are put into the back of your head and they have control of your body. But Melanie refuses to let Wanderer have full control. But that is the main storyline. But in order to get the details...YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK!!!

There, he hears rumors that a neighboring barbarian tribe has an Eagle God - and it suspiciously sounds like the missing Ninth Legion's Eagle. Marcus is determined to retrieve the Eagle, and restore his family's honor. The descriptions in this book are amazing, as is the historical detail. The Year of Secret Assignments

Author:

Jaclyn Moriarty

Review:

Okay so The Year of Secret Assignments is the book my book group decided to read for this month (the month of April) during which we just had book group (about two days ago). Anyhoo, also i'd like to say that this review is on behalf of Kelsey, for she has been bugging me about reviewing the books i read. so here you go Kelsey. okay so onto the book. I though this book was HILARIOUS!!!! it was good from start to finish. although i would of liked the ending to have more of an ending to it. but maybe they are just leading it into another book (i hope so!). just to prove it, i'll tell you this, i started it at 7:20ish, this morning, and just finished it at about 5:00 this evening. and that's actually a little long for me, especially since this book isn't so long. okay i'm side tracking again, sorry. so, if you haven't heard of the book here is a short explanation: "The Ashbury-Brookefield pen pal program is dsigned to bring together the two rival schools in a spirit of harmony and 'the Joy of the Envelope.' But when Cassie, Lydia, and Emily (Ashbury) send their first letters to Matthew, Charlie, and Sebastian (Brookefield), things don't go quite as planned. What starts out as a simple letter exchange soon leads to secret missions, false alarms, lock picking, mistaken identities, and an all-out war between the schools - not to mention some really excellent kissing." So this book is based in Australia. if you like comedies and/or love stories this book is for you. it's a very original novel, and written in a great way. Hope you enjoy it!! P.S. So for those of you who live in Olympia, come to our book club! we meet the first tuesday of each month at the downtown Timberland library. if you love reading, eating brownies, and a ton of fun. you should join us! oh yeah, fyi: it's for ages 13-17. just cause there was already a kids one, we kind of joined together to make a teen one. okay so thanks to Kelsey for actually coming to me on this whole review thing. and sorry to the rest of you who actually read this, it's kind of totally long and well most of it is useless. sorry!

Fat Kid Rules The World

Author:

K.L Going

Review:

This book, to be blunt, is nothing more than wonderful; it's amazing. Truth be told, when I first saw it, I was somewhat iffy, the summary looked bland and after reading the first page, I had concluded that it was nothing more than a suicidal story about some obese teenager. As right as I was, there was much more to it, and I have to say that the story is much deeper. After you get into the book (which happens within the first few pages) you're basically hooked. Not only that, but a majority of the things going in within it really relate to things a teenager goes through. Between dealing with issues from idiots at school, to the mere fact of believing that someone does accept you for who you are. In a nutshell--'cause I'm ranting--I liked this book because it's one of few I can relate to, not only that, but it managed to change my judgmental views on people on the likes. If you're interested in rock, interesting characters, and something "real", this book is a must. ; DD

The novel, The Journal of Patrick Seamus Flaherty is about conflict, depression, anger, and fear. In the story, Patrick (protagonist) joined the marines, and is shipped off to Vietnam. He was assigned to a hill system called Khe Sanh. Once there he has to defend the vital hill system from attacks by the NVA (North Vietnamese Army) and the VC (Viet Cong) (antagonists). After months of defending the hill, he and his squad are shipped back to base to get ready for a new assignment. But the night before they were assigned to a different system, his squad’s tent gets hit by an RPG (rocket propelled grenade). Will he survive the hit, or will he die; only the book will tell. If you enjoy this book I recommend that you read other books from the My Name is America series.

This is a novel about a boy who lives on a farm in Vermont and how he grows up by the Book of the Shaker. I am not really sure what the Shaker book is because the book doesn’t describe it very well but I know the Shakers are a group of people that made the Shaker book that they follow. This book is called A Day No Pigs Would Die because the boy has a pig and the pig is really the only thing he owns and he doesn’t like his dad to kill pigs. I gave this book three stars because at some times this book really slow what I mean by this is at points in this book nothing really happens. I thought this book was great. There are many characters and it takes place in a place called Venice. I rated it a 4 star because the book wasn't all great: at some point in the story the plot changes completely and the story changes. Still, the Thief Lord is an easy book to read, not many hard words, and it's easy to understand. I would definitely recomend this book to readers.

OMG! These books are better than Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings combined. If you like fantasy and excitement this book is perfect: it tells you lots of things about each character and as you read through the series you find out new aspects of a character you thought you had figured out. It is AMAZING!!!!! Great for girls and guys: my brother loved it too.

I really liked the book. It was full of adventures and surprises with many twists and turns, almost like a rollercoster ride. I did find the old lady who tried to feed P.C. to the killer fish sort of dumb. I like scary movies and books and found this book satisfying to me. I do recommend the book to anybody who likes mystery, adventure and gore. I give this book 2 thumbs up!

Eclipse

Author:

Stephenie Meyer

Review:

The novel Eclipse, by Stephenie Meyer, takes place in Forks, La Push, and Seattle Washinton. It's about a girl names Bella Swan who is in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. In this book, Bells is finally realizing that she loves her friend Jacob Black as well as Edward. Bella must decide between life and death. But she doesn't know which one is which. This book is about love, friendship, and trust. It's about being with the people you love most, and still being able to keep your friends close. If this book looks interesting to you, I would suggest reading Twilight and New Moon first. Once you have read these books and Eclipse, you can wait for Stephanie Meyer's final book, Breaking Dawn. I would reccomend this series to 7th and 8th graders. I LOVE reading these books and I bet you will too!!! (The first book, Twilight, is currently being made into a movie and will be released in theatres in December, 2008. You should see it!!!!!!)

I liked the part when the Hardy Boys entered the house and Aunt Gertrude walked up to them telling them a giant man was waiting on the couch for them. Twilight

Author:

Stephanie Meyer

Review:

This is a great book because it is about a girl named Bella Swan who moves away from sunny Arizona to rainy Forks, Warshington. And when she goes to her new school and when she goes to biology the guy (named Edward) she sits next to instantly seems like he hates her, but that's not the story. Bella finally figures out that Edward is a vampire. And he tries to be careful around her but the temptation to kiss her finally gets the better of him. But when he and his coven/family of seven (who are good vampires and drink animal blood instead of human blood) are playing baseball (Bella is with them too) this other coven (that drink human blood) arrive. Larent poses as the leader of the coven and says that they won't hunt on their ground but James the actual leader does not listen and makes Bella think that he has kidnapped her mother because he wants her blood. Bella went to meet him so she could die for her mother but he dosen't have her mother and he gets to biting her (and if a vampire bites you the venom turns you into a vampire and Edward dosen't want Bella to be a vampire) so Edward sucks the venom out. So I would give this book a rating of 5 but if I could give this book a rating of infinity I would.

Eclipse

Author:

Stephenie Meyer

Review:

It is the third book in Stephenie Meyer’s series: Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. They are all about a girl named Bella and how she must choose between love and friendship. In the first book it was all about Bella being in love with Edward (who’s a vampire) and how he doesn’t want to hurt her. So he thought he should leave and have her forget about him, so he did and it didn’t work out very well. While he was gone Bella began to fall in love with Jacob (who’s a werewolf), in the second book. When Edward came back she went back to loving Edward but then soon realized that her love for Jacob was too strong. In Eclipse she has to choose who she loved more without hurting them or herself. So who would it be, Edward, who was as cold as ice (literally) or Jacob, who was as hot as fire (literally)? Read to find out. I would suggest this book to anyone over 11, but you may stumble on a few words. If you like the book Twilight you should see it: it is going to be coming out in a theaters sometime in December 2008.

Fallen Angels is a book about conflict and heart. This fantastic novel is written by Walter Dean Myers. Fallen Angels takes place in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. In this novel a young man named Richie Perry joins the Army and gets sent off to Vietnam. On his way to Vietnam Richie meets a soldier who goes by the name of Peewee. Once Richie and Peewee get to 'Nam Richie starts to get nervous and it really starts to catch on when they head out on their first assignment. And once they get to the battle field things start to really heat up. I think you should read this book if you like thrilling and non-stop action war books; if you do then this is the book for you.

This book is about a boy growing up as an outdoorsman with his friends. He learns many things that he thinks are valuable but they are not actually. All of these things end up making the boy (Patrick McManus) a writer about his experiences as an outdoorsman. In this book there are many small stories: my favorite one is about Francis Cucumber. He is a rich man that wants to go hunting but finds out that it is not for him. Read this book to hear about many other funny occasions. This book is about hate because he hates people that hate the outdoors and compassion because he loves a girl named Olga Bonemarrow.

This book isn't boring, as the rating I gave it insists, but raunchy! I can live with a few bad words or sexual references, but THIS! The main character in the book is thirteen, so obviously the book is aimed at girls ages 11 to 14. Girls that age shouldn't be reading books totally about sex, boobs, homosexuality, making out, drinking, etc. When I was eleven or twelve I read the Holly's Heart series, an excellent series that is APPROPRIATE. I read Lush almost a year ago and was appalled. Although Natasha Friend is a good author and her book Perfect is one of my favorites, Lush was definitely not her best work.
