The Timberland South Mason Library opened near Shelton in 1974 in leased
quarters. In May 1989, the City of Shelton joined Timberland and the two
libraries (South Mason and Shelton) were combined.
An Education Job Information Center is located at the Shelton library.
The Shelton Library has:
- Books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs, audio cassettes, newspapers
and magazines for readers and library users of all ages.

Programs and events for children and adults.
- Computers with access to the Internet, Microsoft Office,
and online reference databases. One-hour computer sessions can be
reserved using the online reservation system or by calling the library.
- Free wireless Internet access in the library during regular open hours.
- A public meeting room that can be reserved for
community meetings and programs by calling the library.

| The Friends of the William G. Reed/Shelton Timberland Library will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at the library. Friends groups serve as advocates for the library. They raise money to fund programs and services for the library that are outside of the regular budget. Those interested in joining in are encouraged to attend the meeting. |
