The Timberland South Mason Library opened near Shelton in 1974 in leased quarters.  In May 1989, the City of Shelton joined Timberland and the two libraries (South Mason and Shelton) were combined.

An Education Job Information Center is located at the Shelton library.

The Shelton Library has: 

  • Books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs, audio cassettes, newspapers and magazines for readers and library users of all ages. 

  •  
  • Programs and events for children and adults.

  •  
  • Computers with access to the Internet, Microsoft Office, and online reference databases.  One-hour computer sessions can be reserved using the online reservation system or by calling the library.
     
  • Free wireless Internet access in the library during regular open hours.
     
  • A public meeting room that can be reserved for community meetings and programs by calling the library.

And what if you were one of those children? Discuss the book and have a chance to win a set of free movie passes. Register in person at the library. The first 10 to register will receive free copies of the book. Supplies and refreshments are provided by the Shelton Cinemas and the Friends of the Shelton Timberland Library.
 
Healthy You: Yoga

Join Yoga instructor Melode Brewer and learn basic Yoga positions for healing and relaxation. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat or a blanket. Some of the program will be held just after closing time; the library will then be open only for the program.
 
Library Board Meeting
Shelton Timberland Library Wed., Feb. 10 9:30 AM
The Shelton Timberland Library (William G. Reed Public Library) Board will have a public meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 10 at the library. This meeting begins before the library is open. The public is invited and will be admitted to the library for the purpose of attending the meeting. The library board is the liason between Timberland Regional Library and the City of Shelton.
