In addition to “normal” library services, staff have found that the library has definitely become more central to the community as a hub. While we have been working toward that goal, it was eye-opening to see it had occurred. The results of working toward the hub aspect of library service just seem to click very recently. In the last few days staff have provided space for newspaper interviews of community members, helped to connect seniors and low income families with the people who can get them firewood for their stoves, and we are a drop- off site for the Community Toy Bank
People have been coming in and just relaxing and gathering. Others are here most of the day working on college classes, or their work portfolio and job applications.
