While working at in the children’s room and the circulation desk, I noticed a mother and three children who were visiting the library. The preschool age boys noticed the gently swaying balls and pointed them out to their mom. “Look Mom!” the oldest boy said, “They’re moving!” She explained that the air blowing in the library made them move and then she had the boys count the balls in each section. “One, two, three, four, FIVE!” counted the boys and, “one, two, three, four, five!” they counted again. Two more sections and they had counted them all. Mom helped them count as they started at the beginning and counted them from one to twenty. Not only beautiful, the glass artwork is educational, too!
