We have a Hispanic woman that has recently been coming in to the library. She's staying at the local Domestic Violence Center and comes in with one of the other ladies that live there. We were told that she can't read or write in English or Spanish and speaks no English at all. The lady that comes in with her told us that she sat by herself and cried for days and couldn't communicate with anyone except for the interpreter that meets with her once or twice a week. She was delighted when our Library assistant Michele Graves started speaking with her in Spanish. It was the first time she was able to speak with someone besides her interpreter in weeks. She was all smiles when she left the library!
