 Lacey filmed their first-ever television library promo piece, thanks to the generosity of the City of Lacey, who donated some of their unused Thurston Community Television contract hours for this purpose. Lacey Board Chair Helen Spalding and I, as the new library manager, came up with 30 minutes worth of questions covering everything from the availability of services for homebound patrons to talking about how public libraries have become less about books and warehousing, and more about being the hub of the community over the years. The piece should air sometime in December on TCTV; if even one person sees it and discovers something new about the library they didn’t know before, I’ll consider our work a job well done!
