I received a letter from a woman in Delaware. She was looking for an obituary for a man from Grays River.  Since IL/NA staff member Sherry Hartline is from Naselle and is familiar with who to contact in Grays River for that information, she volunteered to look for the answer to the question. She could not find any local information about the man. Sherry did find his brother in the Naselle phone book and gave him a call. It turned out the man had been cremated and his ashes scattered in Thailand.
The woman is writing a book about child actors. It turned out that the man whose obituary she was looking for was a child actor who had starred as Baby Dumpling in the Blondie and Dagwood television series and also as Pete Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart.
The woman wrote back to Sherry asking if the brother would be interested in being interviewed for the book. Sherry called him again, but he declined to be interviewed. Sherry wrote back to the woman and let her know the brother would prefer his privacy.
