A patron, who we haven't seen in over 5 years, came in this week wearing a neck brace. He explained that his car had stalled on I-5 at 2 a.m. on Thanksgiving night. They had then been hit by several cars and he had been in the hospital for the last 6 days. He needed help finding a place to stay in town and a replacement vehicle. (He had walked up to the library from the only hotel in town - 6 blocks away.) We made several phone calls for him and tapped several resources for help, money, and food to get him through this rough time. We wished him well and offered to help him further if he needed it.
