As we prepared to close the library for the night a gentleman stuck his head back in and said "I need to tell the library something!" I opened the door a little more and he said how wonderful we are and how happy he is that we exist in this space, in this community, in this universe. A quick smile and he was on his way. It was a nice way to end the evening. ~Selina
Our library was "quietly" busy this morning when a woman came in with her husband and granddaughter. She said that a car had been hit on the side street and she wrote down all the information of the person who hit the parked car. We made an announcement to see if the owner was in the library. Two gentlemen responded - both owning the same make of car and license plates starting with the same letters! They were able to exchange information with the correct owner. The woman was a reserve cop in Morton many years ago and she jumped into action when she saw the damage.
Our patrons are helpful on so many levels! ~Selina
