A woman came to the Info desk to ask about Centralia native Merce Cunningham, a modern dance pioneer. She explained that she was visiting from France, where she is a dancer, and that everyone in France knows Merce Cunningham, and she wanted to be able to see something about him while she was here. I told her about his mural at the local college theater and took her to our local history files, where we have a folder full of articles about Cunningham. She was thrilled with that, and ran outside to get her friend, so she could take the time to read it all. We ended up making copies for her of several of the articles she enjoyed most. She thanked us for the wonderful information, and then went on her way to visit the mural. It's safe to say that we now have an international Timberland fan!
